Most of you probably can't make the N.O.I.S.E. festival this evening in New Orleans. (Which I notice is probably getting started even as I type this.) But that doesn't mean you can't make one of the many other independent "weird" music festivals that occur all around the world on an ongoing basis.For instance, in Sacramento, California there's been an annual event known as the NorCal Noisefest running since 1995. And they serve waffles. This year's dates have just been announced as Oct. 19-21.
I'd be more than happy to announce any other noise/experimental/other music festivals you might know about. Perhaps if we locate enough noisefests in spacetime, a handy reference list might result.
